  2. I remember that first image!

Waaay back when I had a subscription to "Boy's Life" (IIRC), there was a story about a young boy who was trying to scrounge together a costume for Halloween, found some discarded makeup in his school and used it to make a werewolf costume. The night he put it all on, however, he began to undergo a physical change from the makeup, almost as if he were changing into a real werewolf!

And THIS picture was the illustration used for the story!

I wish I could remember the name of the story, but for the life of me I cannot.

Thank you for helping me recall what I did!

  3. TGWD: The story was called, simply, "Werewolf!" written by Zoltan Malocsay, with illustrations by Charles Shields. It was indeed from Boy's Life magazine, dated October 1976. If you'd like to relive your childhood, you can read the story (hell, the whole issue) from Google Books by clicking HERE
